CBCT Scanner
Cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) is a type of advanced imaging used by dentists to create accurate 3D imaging of hard tissue structures. CBCT scans are often used on dental implant patients to get a close look at the bone structure to determine how the implants will fit.
A CBCT scan is a quick and effective procedure with minimal discomfort. The patient is seated and asked to remain still while not swallowing, talking, or moving their jaw. CBCT scanners use cone-shaped x-ray beams which means the radiation dosage is low and much lower than a typical CT scan. Your dentist should always be informed if you think you might be pregnant before having a CBCT scan.
